Create a controlled environment

Simultaneous power on: All the student devices in the exam room can be powered on in a single action, saving time for staff setting up ahead of the test.

Simultaneous login: In exam conditions, teachers can get the students signed in and ready to ensure a prompt start. (Microsoft login credentials only).

Restrict applications: For maximum focus and to prevent any unfair activity, schools can ensure that only the software applications
required for the exam are available for students to use.

Launch exam URL: Invigilators can send and open the required exam website from their screen directly to all participating devices, ready for the students to use.

Lock screens: And by locking the students’ screens, invigilators can prevent them from using the device until the exam starts.

Monitor

Screen monitoring: This is a non-intrusive way to monitor students in a pressured environment, giving teachers an overview of all students’ screens to check if everyone is progressing through the exam as expected.

Remedy activity: If the invigilator spots a student doing something they shouldn’t be, they can use remote control tools to fix it without disturbing the rest of the students.

Control USB stick use: As well as ensuring students have not brought any technology into the exam room, staff can ensure that all USB sticks can be blocked for the duration of the test.

Ask for help

The ‘Request help’ tool is available on every student’s toolbar and the request appears directly on the invigilator’s dashboard, meaning that the silence of the exam room is preserved.

Chat

If invigilators need to send a quick message to students, classroom.cloud makes that easy too. For example, it could be an instruction or a reminder that there is only a certain amount of time left before the end of the exam.

Students can also initiate a chat with the teacher if they need to ask an urgent question during the test.

Restrict internet access

classroom.cloud’s approved/restricted website lists mean that you can provide students with access to only the websites they need to complete their test questions (all other sites are blocked), ensuring that they cannot glean answers from another source or have an unfair advantage over the other students.

The invigilator can also monitor the websites and applications the students are using to check if everything is as it should be.
