NetSupport today announced that its cloud-based solution for teaching, classroom management and safeguarding, classroom.cloud, now enables schools to integrate their CPOMS account – further strengthening and streamlining their online safety provision to ensure they can quickly and effectively identify children who may require early help.
Children’s technology use has vastly increased since the start of the pandemic as in-person activities, including teaching and learning, were limited. Their lives have since become even more technology-based, with many schools now adopting a blended learning approach. This, together with the constant flow of new apps and online trends, has only added to the minefield of online safety.
To help navigate this new landscape, schools integrating their CPOMS account with classroom.cloud can monitor and identify vulnerable students at all times – and, critically, in any location.
When a student triggers a safeguarding keyword or phrase in classroom.cloud, it is captured immediately as an ‘event’, and where appropriate, safeguarding staff can simply link it to a student in their CPOMS account. Going a step further, schools can also review the severity level of the event, as classroom.cloud deploys contextual intelligence to provide details including the device used, time of day, websites visited/applications used and previous alert history (along with any captured screenshots or screen recordings) to calculate how at-risk a student is. Now, safeguarding staff can view the event in both classroom.cloud and CPOMS – helping to ensure vulnerable students don’t slip through the net.
Al Kingsley, CEO of NetSupport, comments, “Monitoring and supporting students as they use school devices across a range of applications and environments has become the number one challenge for schools since their learning environment has rapidly changed over recent months. With this additional integration to classroom.cloud, schools can be confident that when a child searches for content that may place them at risk or indicate a concern, they can be identified quickly and get the appropriate support.”
Claire Wilson, from CPOMS, comments, “Enabling this exciting integration between CPOMS and NetSupport means we can continue to help to protect students both on and offline.” CPOMS is the market leading safeguarding, pastoral and wellbeing solution. Currently used by over 14,500 schools both in the UK and Internationally, CPOMS is an intuitive system which helps to ensure children, young people and adults are safe and fully supported.
