• The Safeguarding Phrase and Keyword list can now be reset to the default list, returning all pre-defined phrases to their default priority.
• The Teacher Console can now be launched in a new tab, enabling users to access the Web Portal while the Teacher Console is open.

• If a teacher forgets to end a class, meaning the student devices remain in an ‘in class’ status ahead of the next class starting, Administrators can now close active classes on behalf of teachers. The Devices pages in the web portal now include an End Class button. A list of classes in progress appears and you select the ones you want to end.
• Adding to the standard method for deleting redundant sites from the portal, Organization Administrators can now force delete a site. The standard behavior remains, prompting you to action any data still attached to the site before proceeding. But if you are happy to continue, the new Force site deletion option allows for a quick removal of the site. The deletion will still be blocked if the site has open student concerns requiring action/reassigning. Any user accounts will be disabled and can be assigned to a new site if required, device groups will be removed and student devices will report a status of unlicensed.
• For an extra layer of security, you can now control access to the web portal. (The approach is similar to defining Privacy settings.) The Users page (organization level only) includes a new Portal access control option, enabling you to specify the school networks to apply login restrictions to, along with times and dates. You can also exclude nominated users to ensure key staff (e.g., the Organization Administrator) can still log in as needed.
• When setting internet and application restrictions, you can now exclude devices and device groups from these settings—making it easier to exclude staff departments or specific year groups.
• The individual buttons for inviting and importing users have been merged into a single Add users button to accommodate the Portal access control option.
• The Devices page will now confirm the class and teacher name for any devices showing as In Class.
• You can now add more details to your acceptable use policies with an increased allowance of 16,000 characters.
• Added the ‘Been There App’ to the list of UK safeguarding resources.
• New Connector tile for TeamSOS.
• Students can now add custom notes during a class and access a link to a useful class resource about digital citizenship from the Student Toolbar.*
• An Administrator can specify a default URL that is added to the Quick Launch list in the Teacher Console. This allows teachers to quickly and easily launch a URL that is in regular use across the school.*

• Adding to your device management toolkit, you can now run Windows PowerShell scripts at student devices as either the currently logged on user of the device or as a specified user. This new feature is available on the Devices and Hardware Inventory pages and scripts can be executed at individually selected student devices (via the actions list) or in multiples using the bulk powershell icon (bulk option coming soon in Inventory).
• When exporting phrase data to csv in the Online Safety view, the detail provided in the source column of the spreadsheet will now include the actual URL visited by the student and the name of the application that was in use when the phrase was triggered – mirroring more closely the information displayed in the web portal list view.
• Newly added to the Online Safety – General settings, Enable online safety view for organization admins. When disabled, the Phrase Matches and Concerns options will be removed for Organization Administrators, ensuring only nominated Online Safety users can view the data.
• The iPad specific Device Group setting introduced in the previous update (Force Microsoft Entra login on iPad) has been extended to include a choice of
authentication options. The revised Identify iPad Student with…. setting allows you to force students to sign in with their username, Microsoft Entra or Google credentials.
• New document link added to the iOS student app installers page – ‘Installing via JAMF School’.
• New document link added to the Chrome OS student extension installers page – ‘How to continue using Google Chrome Manifest v2 extensions from June 2024’. Starting in June 2024, Chrome extensions will change behavior following Google’s migration from Manifest v2 to v3. We are working on updates to our Student extensions to meet the new requirements but in the meantime, to ensure that the changes don’t impact the behavior of any of your installed extensions, we recommend extending the use of Manifest v2 in the Google Admin Console.
