Web Portal v1.28.5 (Dec 2023)

Enhancements

Admin Web Portal
• Newly added Online Safety Summary Reports (available in the Online Safety Settings) offer schools another way to help online safety teams quickly identify and review outstanding phrase matches and student concerns. Admins (organization, site, and online safety) can create any number of customized reports based on current activity. You can choose how often the reports run (daily, weekly, monthly) and nominate the users to receive them. Email alerts will be sent to the nominated staff at the designated times. A clickable link within the emails directs the recipient to the classroom.cloud web portal where the phrase matches and concerns pages display a filtered list of the online safety data matching the criteria specified in the settings.

Web Portal v1.28 (Nov 2023)

Enhancements

• The options previously available in the Online Safety Settings to allow the deletion of concerns and phrase matches have been moved to a new Data Management page in Organization settings. You can also decide which other users are allowed to delete the data from the tables.
• Updated the settings for resetting student passwords to distinguish between Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) accounts and on-premise managed Microsoft Active Directory accounts. The existing Reset Password and Microsoft Integration settings (organization and site level) can still be used to enable password resets for Entra ID accounts. However, for on-premise AD accounts, you should now use the new setting available when adding or editing a Device Group (at site level) – Allow teachers to reset student passwords (on-premise Active Directory accounts only). This therefore means that teacher devices should be added to groups configured to allow password resets. Once enabled, this adds the new Reset Password option to the classroom.cloud Student icon installed on the teacher devices (requires Windows Student application v1.90 or higher) meaning the Teacher Console is not used for this method of password reset unlike Entra ID accounts.
• Class Settings – Teacher Settings tab (site level only) now includes a Silent Disconnect option enabling you to allow or prevent student disconnection messages appearing in the Teacher Console.
• To allow for additional connection capabilities when integrating with SIS environments (Google Classroom, Teams, School Data Sync), also added to Class Settings at site level on the General tab, a new option that allows you to enter an alternate email domain.
• Added the ability for Technicians to remote control student devices when they are in a class.
• Further extending the geographical reach of classroom.cloud, the web portal now offers Arabic as a supported language.
• Updated the Online Safety keyword libraries.

• Added ability to lock the student’s mouse and keyboard when sharing the full teacher screen (Windows 11SE not supported).
• The teacher will no longer see student disconnection messages if the new Silent Disconnect option has been enabled by the admin.
• App Monitoring now allows the teacher to quick close open applications at the student.
