Web Portal v1.24.5 (Nov 2022)

Admin Web Portal
• Newly added to Microsoft integration settings*, you now have the ability to integrate classroom.cloud with the Azure AD user provisioning service (if in use within your organization). Centrally manage accounts in the Azure portal, ensuring classroom.cloud is always in sync with your Azure AD environment. Create user provisioning rules* in the classroom.cloud portal to determine which sites and user roles are assigned to each user when they sign in.
* The user provisioning options are disabled by default but can be made available on request if you wish to use this service. Please contact our support team who will be happy to guide you through the setup process.
• In addition to displaying the device type/OS logo, an additional column, OS Name, can also be added to the device list pages (using the Manage Columns option).
• In this update we welcome two new resources to our Connectors family – Frog and Times Tables
Rock Stars (TTRS).

Web Portal v1.24 (Oct 2022)

Enhancements

Admin Web Portal
• The newly added Audit Log component provides a record of actions, and changes made in the portal – user login/logout, license updates, changes to site details, and more. As with all classroom.cloud features, the list can be searched, and filtered, and you can also export to file.
This is currently a BETA version as we continue to evolve the range of options reported.
• Added ability to auto-assign devices to a device group. Available at site level in Device Group Settings, the Device Auto Assignment feature lets you create rules (for example, based on AD Groups, OS name, or Google organizational units) that are checked when newly enrolled student devices appear in the unassigned devices list. If one of the rules matches with the device(s), it will be automatically assigned to the nominated group.
• In these energy-conscious times, switching off unused devices is a no-brainer! From the devices list, and, hardware inventory table, you now have the ability to Power off devices, individually or in bulk. In addition, ideal when providing remote support for a student, you can also Restart, or Logout the selected device.
• During a remote control session, you can now view specific screens on multi-monitor enabled systems (Windows Student).
• For added identification, the devices list now includes the logged-on student name alongside the machine name (requires Chrome Student 2.60.3.0 or higher, Windows Student 1.60.0000 or higher).
• The devices list also offers a newly added device status. When a connected student device is being viewed/remote controlled, the status will change to In tech session for the duration of the session.
• When reviewing reported student concerns in the online safety component, you can now flag a concern as a false alarm.
• The student report a concern form will now include the job title of each of the concern contacts.

Teacher Web Portal
• The Power off, Restart and Logout options have been added to the Teacher Console toolbar. And, as outlined above, are also available when viewing/remote controlling a student device.
• Also inline with the above, the remote view window offers teachers the ability to switch screens on multi-monitor enabled student systems (Windows Student).

• Resolved an issue where iOS devices would not display the Apple icon in the device lists.
• Resolved an issue where the latest version of Microsoft Edge was not applying the correct ‘obfuscate images’ behavior when trying to view triggered online safety videos. Videos remained blurred when selecting to view them.
• Resolved an issue importing Technician users where the import would fail to create the role if more than one user was added to the csv file or import dialog.
• Resolved an issue where a Technician could open multiple remote control sessions to the same student.
• Resolved an issue where the My Classes class last used time was not respecting the local time zone.

Windows Student v1.60.0002 (Nov 2022)

Enhancements

• Newly added support for the Power off, Logout and Restart commands.
• To support the new Device Auto Assignment feature, the student device will now report the AD Organizational Unit or AD Group it is a member of to allow the web portal to automatically place it in a device group based on the configured rules.
• As mentioned above, support has been added in the portal for multi-monitor enabled student devices.

• Resolved an issue where the Windows Student would not accept connections after being used with a School Data Sync class.

• Extended range of features now available to classroom.cloud portal users assigned the Technician role. Provides access to the Devices and Users lists (Users page read only). This will give school techs the ability to move enrolled devices from unassigned status to a device group, and offers an additional method for viewing and remote controlling devices (as well as from the Inventory tables).
• Customized Report a Concern settings can now be applied to individual Online Safety Groups.
• User profile photos will now show next to the staff nominated as ‘concern contacts’ on the student Report a Concern form, as well as in the web portal where the use of SIS photos is enabled in User Profile settings (currently Microsoft and Google SSO credentials only).

Web Portal v1.22 (July 2022)

• Newly added Concerns feature added to the Online Safety component. Enables nominated administrators and online safety users to review and manage concerns reported by students. (Windows and Chrome OS students supported in this release). Administrators can enable this feature and add ‘concern contacts’ in the new Online Safety – Report a Concern settings. Our Online Safety Admin and, for concern contacts, Online Safety User guides provide full details.
• The Microsoft Integrations settings now allows you to switch on additional Microsoft permissions, enabling you to pull in Teams classes and student photos. (classroom.cloud will only pull in the classes you created using the ‘Class’ team type. Other Microsoft team types are not currently supported.)
• My Classes now includes a new Filters button enabling you to search a class list by last used date, subject and connection type.
• Improved sorting of class lists. You can now sort class lists, in both tile and list view, by dragging and dropping the class to the preferred position. (The previous PIN/favorites option has been removed.)
• The Users list (organization and site level) now includes the option to resend the invite email in bulk to colleagues who have not activated their accounts in a timely fashion. In addition, you can now delete users or temporarily disable accounts in bulk.
• Software Inventory now includes the option to Group by application category.
• ‘Mote’, the instant voice messaging tool, joins our growing family of useful third-party Connector links.
• The recently added Chinese language pack now includes an extended range of online safety keywords and phrases.

• Improvements made to the search mechanisms when searching Teams channels/chats.

Web Portal v1.21 (May 2022)

• Classes Settings now includes a Subjects tab. Allows you to personalize the list of subjects that are available to choose from when creating a class. Subject names in the pre-defined list can be edited or hidden. You can also add user-defined subject names.
• Updated Online Safety keyword libraries including the addition of a Chinese language pack.
• When creating or editing a Device Group you now have the option to prevent classes from being able to connect to the devices in the group – groups that only admins or technicians need to connect to. Teachers can still connect to the devices if creating a class using one of the alternative connection modes.
• Added support for Windows 11 SE.
• The Invite User page now includes a Login Provider option (Microsoft, Google, ClassLink, Clever). Allows you to confirm where users will be using third-party login credentials, streamlining the account creation process for the new users. Update User page allows you to change provider but only where the user hasn’t responded to the invite email and activated their account.
• Inline with the above, the bulk import users .csv file now includes the option to add the Login Provider ID where third-party credentials will be used – 1 = Microsoft, 2 = Google, 3 = Classlink, 4 = Clever.
• As well as the relevant login provider logos, the classroom.cloud logo will also be displayed in the users lists to confirm that a user is signing in with credentials created in classroom.cloud, rather than a third-party SIS tool.
• Miscellaneous Settings now includes an option to customize how long the new user Invite Email remains active. Currently you need to resend the email if the user hasn’t activated their account within three days but you can now set this to a duration of your choosing (1-60 days).
• Device Groups (site level) now includes an information (i) button giving you the ability to see how many and which devices are assigned to the group.
• If the classroom.cloud mascot (affectionately known as Bob) who welcomes you to the dashboard and the teacher console isn’t your cup of tea, you now have the option to remove him in the General Settings.
• Newly added option in User Profile Settings allowing you to prevent user profile photos being pulled in from third-party SIS systems (Portal users only, student photos are still managed separately in the Integrations Settings).

• The Watch and Remote Control features are now available for administrators and technicians to use (already available for teachers in the Teacher Console). The devices list (organization and site level) and hardware inventory tables now include right-click support, offering fast access to launch a Watch window to any available device. Depending on the platform, you can also take control of the device. A new Watch/Remote Control icon has also been added to the Devices pages. (Full watch and remote control supported on Windows, Mac and Samsung Android. Watch only supported on Chrome OS and iOS)
• Integrations Settings now includes the option to directly link classroom.cloud to a Google account. Once the required permissions are set in both the web portal and in your Google Admin account, classroom.cloud will be able to pull in additional Chrome OS device and student details to enhance areas such as the hardware inventory table (device manufacturer, model, auto update expiration), include logged in student name in online safety triggers and on student thumbnails in the Teacher Console). This new setting is also where you can now choose whether to
pull in student photos from Google (previously found in Miscellaneous Settings).
• Auto update expiration field added to hardware inventory table to support Google integration as mentioned above.
• The downloadable iOS Student MDM configuration file (plist) now incorporates additional account details within the filename to help identify which site the configuration refers to.
• New Connectors option added to Settings (organization and site level). We have selected a range of useful third-party websites to connect schools with. Simply select the ones you feel would be most beneficial to appear on a user’s dashboard when they sign in to their classroom.cloud account. Ideal for teachers and online safety teams.
• Updated Online Safety Resources list.
• Updates to Data Processing Agreement (DPA). classroom.cloud continues to evolve and with the latest update adding remote management features along with expanding the range of third-party tools we integrate with, it is probably timely to remind you of our committment to protecting your data. Our Data Processing Agreement (along with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy) can be viewed in full on our website, but the latest DPA revisions are summarized below:
• Additional information on the inclusion of Clever and CPOMS as systems we integrate with.
• Additional information for countries outside of US on legal basis for processing data.

Connection-related settings (by Device Group and Class Code) previously found in Miscellaneous Settings have been moved to this option.

• Designed for school technicians,the newly-added Inventory tool gives you an instant view of the hardware and software installed on each classroom.cloud enabled device. The feature offers a wealth of grouping and filtering options enabling you to drill-down into the hardware and software lists in more detail, as well as the ability to switch between a standard itemized list and a more visual chart view.
• To support the introduction of classroom.cloud’s Inventory tool, a new Technician user role has been introduced. This can be assigned to members of the school’s IT team who do not necessarily require access to the web portals main administrative features. Organization and Site Administrators are automatcially given access to the Inventory tool.
• classroom.cloud can now integrate directly with the CPOMS Online Safety and Wellbeing application. When reviewing a triggered keyword in the classroom.cloud Online Safety component, you can link it to the student in your CPOMS environment – and continue to view the event in both classroom.cloud and CPOMS.
• classroom.cloud also now integrates with the Clever digital learning platform (US schools only). Clever single sign-on is supported by default. To activate and make use of the Clever Secure Sync rostering services, please contact your classroom.cloud account manager.
• A cancel/clear (x) button has been added to all search bars across the web portal.

Apple iOS Student (01/04/2022 – v1.00.0007 now available in the Apple App Store) The Student app for iOS now includes support for classroom.cloud’s Online Safety tools.

The app will alert nominated staff members when students type or search for any terms that match with those in the classroom.cloud keyword database – providing
online safety indicators for self-harm, bullying, sexual and criminal exploitation and much more.

Students who do feel vulnerable can access via the app a list of relevant online resources should they want to seek external help with a particular problem or concern.
